Master Diver (E7)

Senior Diving Supervisor (12D4O): Serves as a senior diving supervisor and platoon sergeant of a 25-Soldier Engineer Dive Detachment with support equipment valued at over $3,600,000; supervises, mentors, and counsels twenty Soldiers; rates six diving supervisors and senior rates six lead divers; plans, coordinates, and supervises SCUBA and surface-supplied diving operations for underwater demolition, salvage, bridge reconnaissance, harbor clearance, hydrographic survey, port construction and rehabilitation, force protection, and ship's husbandry operations; serves as the master diver for medical treatment of diving disorders; develops and supervises all training evolutions for second class, salvage and first class divers.


Master Diver (E8)

Master Diving Supervisor (12D5O): Serves as a master diving supervisor and First Sergeant of a 25-Soldier Engineer dive detachment with life support equipment valued at over $3,600,000; supervises, mentors, counsels and rates six diving supervisors, senior rates six lead divers; plans, coordinates, and supervises SCUBA and surface-supplied diving operations for underwater demolition, salvage, bridge reconnaissance, harbor clearance, hydrographic survey, port construction, rehabilitation, force protection, ship's husbandry operations; serves as the master diver for medical treatment of diving disorders; develops and supervises all training evolutions for all divers within the command; oversees all life support maintenance along with medical and administrative requirements for the command.

Accountable for the unit dive safety program. Formulates demolition plan for operational and training missions. Provide expertise to staff planners and diving teams. Writes and develops doctrinal, regulatory, training, and safety material related to the accomplishment of diving missions.
